Neurological Physiotherapy is often referred to as NEUROPHYSIOTHERAPY. The main aim of neurological physiotherapy is to optimize the physical function, mobility, and quality of life of those who have neurological deficits. to achieve these goals neuro rehabilitation techniques have different methods like bobath technique, muscle strengthening techniques, gait and balance exercises, and motor control training.
Treatment approaches in neurological rehabilitation may vary depending on the specific needs and goals of the individual.
- EXERCISE THERAPY: Tailored exercises like targeting to strengthen the weakened muscles, improve range of motion, and increase overall mobility.
- GAIT TRAINING: Exercises to promote gait mechanics, balance training, and use of assistive devices like crutches, canes, and walkers if needed.
- BALANCE AND COORDINATION TRAINING: Activities and exercises that improve balance and coordination which are going to help in gait training are taught. stability drills, proprioceptive training, etc.
- MANUAL THERAPY: Massage, joint mobilization, and stretching to reduce muscle stiffness, reduce pain.
- FUNCTIONAL TRAINING: This includes activities such as dressing, grooming, household chores, etc.
- PATIENT’S EDUCATION: Providing information and guidance to individuals and caregivers on self-management strategies, including home exercises, adaptive techniques to prevent falls, and secondary education.
